Walden and Kathleen O'Brien, CEO, thank Imagine One and Nancie Lumpkins, CEO, and President, for sponsoring our Navigating the Waves of Change event at the Minding the Compass level. Both Walden and Imagine One have visionary women at their helm. Kathy O'Brien has been with Walden since 1973 when it was a part of Bumpy Oak Counseling Center. Since then, Walden has grown to be the area's leader in behavioral health care, with a continuum of care options spanning crisis, trauma, substance misuse and mental health/psychiatric needs.
Nancie Lumpkins established Imagine One Technology & Management, Ltd. in July 1998. The company has grown to just over 300 employees and is currently under contract to six major government agencies and 20 corporate clients. Imagine One's first facility was located in Port Royal, VA. first settled in 1652 and chartered in 1744. Port Royal, VA was home to Dorothy Roy, the first woman entrepreneur in the colonies. Today, chimneys are all that remain of the Roy home. The Imagine One logo incorporates these chimneys to honor the first woman-owned business in the colonies.
For a deeper look at the Maryland community's evolution over the last 40 years and Walden's changing role over time, join us on 9/27 at Navigating the Waves of Change at Olde Breton Inn. Once again, thank you, Imagine One, for being a part of our present and vision for the future!
