This summer the Cove and Greenwell Foundation teamed up to build a tire tower for children to enjoy at the park!
Fed Up Rally, 2015: A group of 17 people from Walden's Beacon attended and joined hundreds braving the weather for the 3rd Fed Up Rally and March to the White House, calling for a federal response to the opiate addiction health crisis. Many thanks to the Sisters of Nazareth/Camp Maria Retreat Center for assisting with transportation costs to the event!
We went to make history with thousands of others on the National Mall, in the first-ever concert for recovery and advocacy. One of our participants said of the event, "This was an amazing, awesome and humbling experience.”
Walden is working with the St. Mary’s County Detention Center to institute Vivitrol as an option for opiate-addicted individuals participating in treatment and re-entry services
Walden would like to announce: we started a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) located in Charlotte Hall! The program is 6 hours a day 6 days a week.

Beacon of Hope is hosting an 8-hour Mental Health First Aid training being sponsored by the Healthcare Enterprise Zone (Great Mills, Lexington Park) on Tuesday 10/27 and Thursday 10/29 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The training is free.
The Cove/DFZ will be partnering with the St. Mary's County Health Dept to provide youth-driven education to local tobacco and vapor retailers regarding the Youth Tobacco Access Law. Youth of The Cove/DFZ will create, star in and produce an educational video with accompanying print materials.
In September Walden opened Dockside in California. The Dockside program provides a transitional housing environment for women seeking an environment supportive of stabilizing recovery. Individuals residing at Dockside participate in treatment and care management services. We’re here to help!
