Whether as the place to start getting help or as the next step after our inpatient treatment, our Outpatient treatment program offers adolescents and adults options in professional help, based on the level of need. Our staff works with insurance carriers and other payers to advocate for the most clinically appropriate level of care possible for each client.
Clients can be screened for options in Medication-Assisted Treatment, to include buprenorphine and Vivitrol. At Walden, we rely on research on effective treatment to assist us in determining the kind of care we provide. Medications such as buprenorphine (Suboxone) consistently prove effective in treating opioid use disorder by providing support for managing cravings and allowing time in abstinence for the brain to heal from the impact of substance misuse. In recent years, extended-release naltrexone (Vivitrol) has also shown evidence of effectiveness. Medication-assisted treatment is provided by our Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
PROGRAMS TAILORED TO MEET EVERY CLIENT’S UNIQUE NEEDS
Daytime and evening Outpatient treatment options at locations throughout our catchment area are available. Options include intensive, general, and early intervention choices offered in group settings with individualized care included. Care coordination and easy access to peer recovery specialists known as recovery coaches complement outpatient treatment services so that clients can count on support continuing post-treatment.
An assessment is the first step in determining the appropriate level of care. At Walden, we prioritize evidence-based practices, an understanding of addiction as a brain-based illness, and a trauma-informed approach in our outpatient curriculum.
